About the Moaner
Hi, I’m Derek Cronin, I’m from Dublin, Ireland, and I make music and pictures for a living.
I composer, produce and arrange music at Phonic Studios in Dublin, which I run with fellow music/video guy Paul Byrne.
When Paul and I aren’t making music, we can be found making promotional films at our media company, Optophonic.
When I’m not in Phonic/Optophonic, I play live with various bands around Ireland, but mostly these days just with the wonderful Beatclub.
Sometimes I can be found lecturing on all subjects music/video/multimedia related in the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, on their Masters in Music Technology, and the odd time I also guest lecture in the Dublin Institute of Technology, and the Temple Bar Sound Training Centre.
Other than that stuff, and writing this blog, I try to spend as much time as I can with my wife Aoibhe and my son Cole.
