Dear Ceann Comhairle,

It has come to light in the past number of days that you have no respect for the people who elected you. As Minister for Tourism, you saw fit to spend money on yourself and those around you with an arrogance not seen since Rody Molloy took off around the world.

The utter conceited fashion with which you have spent taxpayers’ money beggars belief. I am appalled and disgusted by your behaviour, as I am sure most of the country is. But most worryingly of all, I am not surprised.

You can say “it was a different time”, or as your former department has said, that these events “invariably involve a high premium”, but there is no excuse for the incredible amounts of money you saw fit to spend on yourself. None.

I hereby call on you to resign your post.
